Операция Onymous — международная правоохранительная операция, проведённая 5–6 ноября 2014 года с целью закрытия даркнет-маркетплейсов и скрытых сервисов, работающих в сети TOR. В акции участвовали Europol, Eurojust, ФБР, ICE и агентства ряда европейских стран, что позволило скоординировать действия на международном уровне. К началу ноября 2014 года сети TOR уже активно использовались теневыми площадками, обеспечивая высокий уровень анонимности для пользователей и администраторов. В то время появлялись предположения о том, что правоохранительные органы тщательно изучали слои сети, пытаясь выявить уязвимости и способы идентификации скрытых сервисов. Именно международное сотрудничество позволило подготовить комплексную операцию, охватывающую сразу несколько стран. Технические детали подготовки операции официально не раскрывались, что вызвало дискуссии среди экспертов. Существовали версии о применении комбинированных методов: криптоанализа, анализа трафика, DDOS-атак и традиционных методов слежки. По оценке исследователя Ника Кубриловича, из 276 адресов, которые удалось проверить, 133 были фиктивными. Это ставит под сомнение масштаб заявленного удара, но тем не менее операция нанесла ощутимый удар по ряду известных площадок, включая Silk Road, Hydra и Cloud 9. Операция Onymous стала важной частью так называемой «войны теневых площадок», демонстрируя постоянное противоборство маркетплейсов с правоохранительными органами.
